On May 10, 2010, my fellow Filipinos will head to the polls to elect the Philippines' 15th President and Vice-President. They will also be voting for members of the Senate and their district's Representative, as well as local government officials.
Election time in the Philippines, especially the campaign period, is a very colorful and festive season. Literally, and figuratively, speaking. Posters, banners, flyers, and all sorts of campaign materials of different kinds, sizes and colors are scattered everywhere in the country.
When I was still in the Philippines, my friends and I made campaign materials for my relatives who ran for local posts in our province. We made pocket calendars, flyers, stickers, posters. It was fun but a lot of hard work creating designs, choosing materials, the right color combination and pictures, and putting them together for color printing. After spending several sleepless nights working on our project, we were proud seeing our finished product, and prouder when our clients loved it.
