Mele Kalikimaka

In Hawaii, Merry Christmas is "Mele Kalikimaka"

The photos are part of the yearly Christmas display at the Honolulu Hale (City Hall). As a Christmas tradition, the grounds of Honolulu Hale is decked with Christmas lights and decor. I took this picture last year on my visit to Honolulu Hale to view the Christmas decoration.

This snow persons seem almost out of place in Hawaii. Yet the sepia gives them an island tan as they reside in paradise. Nice shots and Merry Christmas!

Shades of memories of my father. He used to salute "Mele Kalikimaka" at Christmas. I heard it my whole life until his passing a few years ago. My brother started toasting with it last year. We will be using it again tonight. Merry Christmas!! and again Mele Kalikimaka.
