When I was a kid, I loved riding on a swing. I guess every child do. I remember back in kindergarten and prep, my classmates and I would race to the school playground and head towards the swing. Everybody wanted to be the first to grab a seat. We would hold a contest on who among us can "swing" the highest.
Our old house was walking distance to the Capitol Lagoon and back in those days, there was a playground filled with two or three swing sets. There were afternoons when some neighborhood kids and I would walk to the Capitol Lagoon together with our nannies where we would spend hours playing on the swing.
Those were the days when life was simple and being on top of the world means swinging the highest.
How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!
