Being Prepared

Health care in the U.S. is probably one of the best in the world but could be very expensive. It is, therefore, a must for one to have health insurance.

A few months after I arrived in the U.S. two years ago, my husband brought me to an eye specialist for check up because he planned to have me undergo lasik operation. However, I was found to have cataract and was advised to undergo a cataract surgery. The operation would have costed him more than three thousand dollars had I not been covered under his health insurance. There are a lot of advantages of having health insurance: lower medical costs, easy access to routine medical check ups, less expenses for laboratory tests, among others.

For those who are financially strapped, there are low cost health insurance at very affordable rates. A prudent man must be prepared for the inevitable and one way to do so is by having health insurance.
