On Weight Loss

For several months now, I've been telling myself that I need to lose weight but I still keep stuffing myself with carb laden goodies.    My love for food, especially the ones rich in carbohydrates which wrecks havoc to my body weight, is so immense that I always seem to find a thousand alibis to either postpone or break my Atkins diet.   Since I started gaining weight late last year,  my hubby's always joking that pretty soon I will be wearing "muumuu", the Hawaiian loose dress.  

Food lovers, like myself, especially ones with slow metabolism, need a lot of discipline to lose weight and, more discipline, to maintain it. From my own experience, exercise is a tested and proven factor to weight loss.  Eating correctly, i.e., staying away from food rich in carbohydrates is also a must.  

For people who have difficulty losing weight, they turn to weight loss products.  The internet is filled with weight loss treatments promising effective results.  However, as it is with other products or services  in the market,  the consumer must always remember the principle of caveat emptor  and must first seek medical advise or learn more about a product before using it.

my hubby and i are also eating unhealthy foods these past few weeks...mostly fatty foods.

but i always make sure that i drink chinese tea after meals coz i read something about it that it can make you stay slimmer.

MsRay,
You are becomming an American. Before I moved here weight was a problem for the past 25 years. As we get older, our metabolism slows down. Then there is all the resturant eating, prepared foods and easy snack foods. Do not feel like cooking, pop something in the micro. Even the Heathy ones, or so they state are high in salt and carbs.
For me, I also would eat cake to fill up if there was nothing else.
Get back to being a Filipina, fresh vegies, fresh fish, fresh fruits and less meats and eat until your not hungry and not until your full. 6 small meals are better than 2 or 3 bigger ones.
I was 238 pounds when I arrived in the Philippines and now 15 months later I am down to 190. I feel better, my bad back and knees do not bother me.
Now if I could only quit smoking.
