New Year's Day at North Shore

How did you spend your New Year's day?  Bana-bear and I spent ours revisiting the historic Haleiwa town and the neighboring places in North Shore, the world-famous big wave surf mecca.  Winter time is surf season so the beaches were filled with visitors even after sundown.

We strolled around the town, visited art galleries and souvenir shops housed in plantation-era buildings.

The North Shore Marketplace houses the North Shore Surf Museum, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, shops.

We watched the famous Hawaii painter-musician, Ron Artis, perform with his family.
