Visiting Italy

This morning, hubby received an email from his youngest daughter about how much she enjoyed her trip to Rome, Italy. The pictures she sent are posted here. She was there for a visit a couple of weeks ago and in her words, "hands down, Rome was the best day of my life!"

Italy, situated in Mediterranean Europe, is every traveler's dream destination. It is ranked as the fifth major tourist destination in the world. The country is teeming with cultural attractions: ancient monuments and archeological sites, museums filled with works of its famous sons like Michealangelo and Raffaello. The cities themselves are living museums. No wonder Italy is home to the greatest number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Per UNESCO's record, two-thirds of the world's historical artistic heritage are found in Italy.

The country's thousands of ristoranti, trattoria, panineria and pizzeria, as well as its famous wines (the country is not only the largest producer of wines, but also a producer of some of the world's greatest wines) are an attraction to the food and wine connoisseur.

Of course, the avid shopper knows that Italy is home to some of the most popular designer brands in clothing, shoes and leather goods: Georgio Armani, Dolce e Gabbana, Fendi, Versace, Prada, Gucci, La Perla, Ferragamo, and the list is endless.

For travelers contemplating a visit to Italy, particularly the popular destinations therein, and who are looking for quality and competitively priced hotels or bed and breakfast (B&B) accommodations, Hotel Naples and Hotel Florence offer very helpful information, recommendations as well as very good deals. Reservations can easily be done online.

For those wanting to proceed to nearby Paris and are looking to experience the Parisian way of life, they might consider choosing a Bed & Breakfast accommodation as a cheaper alternative to staying in a big hotel. Bed breakfast paris style can be a unique and fun experience to a visitor looking for first-hand experience on local culture.

Planning your next vacation destination? Try Italy.

"Never lose your childish enthusiasm
and things will come your way."
(movie quote from Under the Tuscan Sun)
