Exit Here

We are now studying about premises liability laws in Civil Investigation class. We learned, for example, that owners of commercial buildings have the duty to take reasonable amount of care in order to avoid accidents from happening therein; if they fail to do so, they may be held liable for damages for the injuries suffered by persons who are in their premises.

One vital responsibility of the owner is the posting of exit signs within the building. The signs must be clear and easily visible to direct the visitors to areas of exits and staircases. This is important especially in emergency situations like fire or other similar cases.
