For the Math Challenged

I am Math challenged. In fact, when dealing with numbers, I always end up "hurting myself". It's so ironic that when I graduated from prep, I got the "Mathematician of the Year" award. I wonder what happened to my brain through the years.

To help me with my weakness, bana-bear bought a Basic Math course which came in a set of 6 instructional dvds, a workbook and a course guidebook. The lesson starts with basic arithmetic of whole numbers, then fractions, decimals, percents and integers and progresses to exponents, square roots, geometry, measurement, problem-solving, probability, statistics and pattern recognition. After each video lecture, the "student" has to perform exercises found in the workbook. I've just started with the course but I'm (re)learning something from it. Well, it also helps that I have bana-bear to guide me through the exercises. I feel like a gradeschool student all over again learning basic math.

"To succeed, you will soon learn, as I did,
the importance of a solid foundation
in the basics of education
- literacy, both verbal and numerical, and communication skills."
