Nerma and I were classmates in college at La Salle, Bacolod. After graduation, we went on our separate ways and lost touch of each other. More than a decade later, we bumped into each other at Kuppa, in Bacolod. We renewed ties and exchanged e-mail addresses. I found out that after our Commerce years, Nerma went on to nursing school and she's been a Chicago-based nurse for more than 10 years now.
A couple of weeks ago, Nerma and her husband, Steve, were in Hawaii for a two-week vacation. Their Hawaii stint gave us another chance to rekindle our ties. On their last night in Oahu, hubby and I took them out for dinner at our favorite restaurant, Roy's at Ko Olina Resort.
Although it was their first meeting with my husband (and my first meeting with Steve as well) we all enjoyed each other's company.
